About Leeway Workshop, LLC

You can read about us below. It will let you know how we started, why, when, where and who. Thanks for taking the time to read about us.

Current Lead Time:

The lead time for a new order is around 8 to 10 weeks. Because of this, there is no need to use Paypal to get on the waiting list. Just send an email with the model and options you would like. I prefer this method. We could settle up just before your order ships. Feel free to ask about the status of your order or the availability of your particular model at any time via email.

What's New:

We are still developing the overhead mounting systems. There have been several minotr changes during the R&D of these to make them better. Each change adds a bit more time, but we should have something to show in the next couple weeks. If you want to get on the interested list for information about these when it becomes available, just send an email.

Thank you for your interest.

In the Beginning:

American Flag Waving Shark Logo

I started out making a few aftermarket accessories for table saws in early 2002 just doing it part time in my small shop. I made riving knives and throat plates for the Ryobi BT3000 saws. Later, I started making blade guards for table saws in early 2003. I made the first prototype Shark Guard and logged my progress in at BT3Central Forum. It was received well and I had a lot of apparent interest. I decided to produce a few for these guys in my spare time. The business has been growing ever since. From then on, I have been playing catchup. There has always been a lead time on the Shark Guards.

Dream come true:

I did this part time for a few years. When lead time began to get drawn out to a couple months, I quit my day job and decided there was a niche market for table saw blade guards after all. My wife supported my decision and I was soon at it full time. At this point lead times kept stretching out. Hmmm. I started researching ways of building machines and jigs to help me produce these. I found the CNC Zone and I instantly knew I had to make a cnc machine. That was 5 cnc machines ago.

A few years ago I hired my Son to work with me full time. We still have not overcome the lead times, but they are more reasonable now than they were in the past. This is essentially a small family business now. My Son knows enough about the business now to be able to stand in my shoes if the need arises. He would still be able to serve your safety needs.

We are in the process of completing a new shop that is a bit bigger than my original shop. It is only 16' x 16'. The new one is 18' x 20' with another slab poured with the original to eventually increase the shops length to 40'

The small shop will then revert back to a woodworking shop. I sure do miss not being able to do much woodworking. It is also how I got into this business. All the metal work in there now makes it impractical.

Some people have stated that they envy me because I no longer have a Boss. That is not the case. Each and every one of my customers are treated as if they were my boss. They are the ones that let me know what to make, how to make it and the ones I answer to if something is done wrong. They also pay the bills.

None the less. I love it. I feel very fortunate to be able to work for you each day. This may be a small falily shop, but we take pride in being able to provide high quality products that are Made in the USA. American Flag Waving
These will ONLY be made in the USA.

Thanks a bunch Guys and Gals.

We look forward to the opportunity to do business with you.

This is the first Leeway WorkShop

This is a picture of my shop unfinished. I consider this to be my sanctuary. This is where I relieve everyday stresses of the world. The actual shop is only 16' by 16', but I sometimes think its a good size Man! I was mistaken when I wrote that? Now its not nearly enough room. It is attached to an 8' by 16' store bought storage shed, to which I built an 8' by 16' lean-to type storage building for yard machines and some lumber storage. This area is also the powder coating booth and air compressor and dust collector area. My wife's storage is in the store-bought shed along with the usual household storage and some of the wood working stuff that I don't use that often.

This pic was taken in Sept, 2001

Above is a shot of the back of the shop in the Spring. Below is how my shop looks in the summer currently. It looks a little like a jungle with all the bananas, lillies, squash and cucumbers growing behind it. Yes, The grass needs cutting too. It worked well for awhile. Great for a one man shop, but two people cannot work in there together. That is why we built another shop.

Where we are

We are located in South Alabama in Elsanor. It is close to Robertsdale. We do not run a store front. All these products are custom made to order and we have very little actually in stock at any given time. W are striving to increase that amount though.
